Dodge City Roundtable March 26-26

Join KSAFC for the first Roundtable of 2026 in Dodge City! Chief's Roundtables are an opportunity to network and share mutual issues with other Chiefs facing the same issues your department is. 

 Evening Reception (March 25th)

• 5:00 pm - The trolley picks up participants at their host hotels to head to Boot Hill Museum.

• Boot Hill Museum - Available 5:00 - 7:00 pm, with light appetizers at Front Street and Long Branch Saloon for social hour and drinks.

• 7:00 pm - Trolley takes participants to Boot Hill Casino and Resort (right by Hampton Inn By Hilton & Suites). Stopping at Holiday Inn Express & Suites to drop off and pick up participants if needed.

• 7:15 pm - Boot Hill Casino and Resort for dinner at Firesides and free play at the Casino.

• Trolley departs at 9:00 and 9:30 from Boot Hill Casino, bringing participants back to Holiday Inn Express & Suites.

Conference Day (March 26th)

• 9:00 am - 4:00 pm - Chief's Roundtable - Morning, pastries, coffee, and water will be provided; Lunch at noon at Boot Hill and afternoon snack at 2:00 pm

• Meeting wraps up at 4:00 pm

Coffeyville Event

On January 29, 30, we gathered in Coffeyville for an incredible roundtable event filled with meaningful discussions, valuable updates, and great camaraderie. With attendees traveling as much as five hours to be there, the commitment to improving the fire service in Kansas was evident.

Wednesday evening, we kicked things off with a social hour and dinner—giving everyone a chance to connect, swap stories, and set the stage for the discussions ahead. Then on Thursday, we convened in the historic Midland Theater for a packed agenda covering key issues affecting our departments and the fire service statewide.

We tackled topics like securing funding for the Governor’s Wildfire Task Force recommendations, supporting KSFM gear grants, and identifying other state funding for rural departments. Discussions on MABAS, Sourcewell resources, legislative updates, firebreaks, firefighter tax breaks, KPF COLA, and several pending bills provided valuable insights and action steps. We also heard updates on the KSFFA, KFRTI, KSFMO, KSAFC, and the upcoming conference.

A special thanks to Coffeyville Fire for being outstanding hosts and to all who participated in the discussions. Your engagement and willingness to share ideas are what make these gatherings so beneficial.

2026 KSAFC Conference

The 2026 Kansas State Association of Fire Chiefs 110th Annual Conference will be held at the Margaritaville Hotel in Kansas City, KS. Conference Registration, includes access to all programming, including the awards luncheon, keynote speakers, business meeting, and the vendor expo.
